Sort
In the spreadsheet shown below, the names of the financial institutions are not in alphabetical order.

Alphabetical sorting is very easy within Microsoft Excel. Data can be sorted alphabetically A-Z or reverse alphabetically Z-A. Numeric data can also be sorted in ascending or descending order.
Before performing a sort, the data to be sorted must be identified. It is vital that all associated data in the adjacent columns is included.
In the above example, because the data in rows B to H is specific to the individual financial institution, if the order of the financial institution is changed, the order of the associated data must be changed too.
This will be done automatically if the spreadsheet is instructed which data to include in the sort. To do this, all of the relevant data to be included in the sort must be highlighted, as follows:
