Whilst the flow of information is important, it is worth noting that the timing and quality of the information flow is essential to the relevance of the information.
In most modern warehouses an integrated Warehouse Management System (WMS) is utilised in the gathering, manipulation and reporting of warehouse information.
A WMS should support all operations in a warehouse, including:
- Receiving;
- Put-away;
- Order processing;
- Replenishment; and
- Other associated activities and documentation requirements.
