Storage

There are a number of storage methods within a typical warehouse, these include:

  • Block Stacking – where pallets of goods are safely stored on top of each other to a safe and predetermined height
  • Adjustable Pallet Racking (APR) – Racking can be configured to meet exact storage needs in terms of load, volume and weight
  • Carousels – These are a type of moving shelving unit that deliver the required stock to the person picking them. Carousels can be either vertical (up and down movement) or horizontal (sideways movement).

Storage systems can be either be:

  • Random – Location can be anywhere deemed suitable in the warehouse
  • Fixed – A specified place in the warehouse that is the most suitable for the storage of specific products
