Printing and Page Formats

Page Setup allows the user to:

  • Change the orientation of the printout. It may be needed on Landscape or Portrait layout.  The following shows the different orientations:

  • Change the margins. The margins are the gap around the edge of the document where nothing will be printed.  It might be necessary to make these smaller so that more information can be fitted onto the page.
  • Select “Fit to page”. Excel will automatically fit the spreadsheet into the selected number of pages wide and pages tall.

Headers and Footers

The AAT assessment will require the user to enter both headers and footers into their spreadsheets.

A header will appear at the top of each page when printed.

A footer will appear at the bottom of each page and is often used to include the date and a page number.

To create a Header or Footer

From the print screen:

1. Select “Page Setup”
2. Select the “Header / Footer” tab
3. Either select one of the available choices from the drop down list for the header and footer or create a custom piece of text
