Delivery Accuracy – This KPI considers how well goods are delivered to their destination point. This can be external to the organisation or another department internal to the organisation.
Labelling and Identification – It is important that inventory is clearly identified and labelled to ensure an efficient inventory control process. Correct labelling is extremely important where FIFO or LIFO is in operation to minimise the chances of inventory becoming obsolete. Many organisations use bar coding processes to make this as speedy and efficient as possible.
InventoryTraceability – This is very important in certain business sectors such as the food industry or motor car manufacturing, where being able to trace items from sale through to origin is key from a safety and quality perspective.
Quality – It is important that the quality of inventory is monitored. This can have a major impact on a manufacturing organisation where time may be lost setting up a production process only to delay the programme due to faulted goods.
