The most common forms of MHE include the following:
Hand Pallet Truck (HPT)
This is the most basic type of MHE and is simply a pair of forks mounted on wheels, as shown in Figure 2. The forks can be manually raised to around 10 cm from the ground. They are ideally suited to move a single pallet.

Powered Pallet Truck (PPT)
This is similar to a HPT. However the raising of the forks and the movement of the pallet is aided by an electrical motor and hydraulics. They can lift loads up to 2 tonnes.

Hand Stacker Trucks (HST)
These are similar to pallet trucks but can lift loads to a height up to 1500 mm.
