Deliver – Customer orders are received and delivery of the goods is planned. This part is sometimes referred to as logistics, where companies coordinate the receipt of orders from customers, develop a network of warehouses, pick carriers to get products to customers and set up an invoicing system to receive payments.
Return – This is the final stage of supply chain management and, as the name suggests, this stage could involve customers returning defective products. Customer questions will be addressed by the company at this stage. Supply chain planners must create responsive and flexible networks in order to receive defective and / or excess products back from customers and supporting customers who have problems with delivered products.
