Introduction
Simply put, “Cloud computing” is another phrase for “Internet computing”. The Internet is “visualised” as a cloud, so the expression “Cloud computing” is a metaphor for computations performed over the Internet. With Cloud computing, computer users can access online database resources from anywhere in the world, without worrying about any maintenance or management of the actual resources. Databases on the cloud are dynamic and practicable; unlike utility computing, grid computing, or autonomic computing. In terms of computing; Cloud computing uses an autonomous platform. A good example of cloud computing would be Google Apps, where an application can be downloaded using a browser, and then can be deployed on millions of computers throughout the Internet. Instead of running apps yourself, Cloud computing runs on a shared data centre.
